“Desert Princess” Sunset Dinner Cruise
Tuesday ~ June 24
6:00pm ~ 8:30pm

Only minutes from the glitter of Las Vegas is a very different kind of fun! Just a short drive from the valley of neon lies a whole other world - Lake Mead, and the mighty Hoover Dam. These waters are home to the Desert Princess, an authentic 300-passenger Paddle-Wheeler, built especially to cruise the blue waters of Lake Mead.
You will be wined and dined by the gracious crew who will offer you an excellent dining choice consisting of beef, chicken, seafood or pasta.
This cruise offers passengers a spectacular view of Lake Mead and the breathtaking scenery surrounding it. You can get a great perspective on the engineering marvel called Hoover Dam, one of the man-made engineering wonders of the modern world. Hoover Dam is 726 feet tall and is 45 feet wide at the top and 660 feet thick at the bottom. There is enough concrete in Hoover Dam (4½ million cubic yards) to build a 4 foot wide sidewalk around the Earth at the Equator. During peak electricity periods, enough water runs through the generators to fill 15 average sized swimming pools (20,000 gallons each) in 1 second. Every state in the United States furnished supplies and materials for the construction of Hoover Dam.
Dark and distinctive, flat-topped Fortification Hill (a clearly-defined, extinct volcano) shoulders into mountains flanking Lake Mead in Arizona. Near its base, an area of colorful mounded hills contrasts against its somber background. Known as the Devil's Paint Pots, or simply the Paint Pots, this multicolored region reflects its pastel shades in the mirror of lake water on still days, plainly visible from across the lake.
Year round, the Desert Princess skims across the lake's glassy blue surface. Whatever the season, travel in climate-controlled comfort on one of the two enclosed decks, or feel the wind in your hair and the desert sun on your face up top on the open promenade deck. All the staff of Lake Mead Cruises, including Captain and crew, invite you to join them in this very unique Southern Nevada experience. We are proud to bring you the natural wonders of the Lake, and the man-made wonder that is Hoover Dam.
