PRESENTATION TOPIC
Presentations addressing one of the following areas:
- Applications of GT STRUDL for Civil / Structural Analysis & Design Projects
- Interfaces developed between GT STRUDL and other applications
- Databases and Spreadsheets used in conjunction with GT STRUDL
- Other Software or Techniques used with GT STRUDL that have increased productivity
The presentations may be in Power Point (PPT) or Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format or 35 mm slides. No formal paper is required although handouts are recommended for seminar attendees. Presentations submitted in electronic format may be chosen by the Georgia Tech - CASE Center to be posted at the GT STRUDL Web site (www.gtstrudl.gatech.edu).
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
Submissions of original GT STRUDL projects, not previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere, in the form of condensed abstracts. Abstracts should not exceed 500 words (approximately 1 full page). Submissions should be sent via Email to the Users Group Coordinator, Georgia Tech - CASE Center (casec@ce.gatech.edu), no later then February 1, 2008. We may not be able to consider late submissions, or submissions that do not have a working and attended return Email address. Receipt of the submissions will be acknowledged by Email. All presentations given at the 20th Annual Users Group Meeting will be eligible for the annual GT STRUDL "Award for Excellence".
PURPOSE
This award has been established to promote the recognition of GT STRUDL as one of the world's premier tools for computer-aided structural analysis and design. To achieve this purpose a cash prize and other "valuable" mementos will be awarded to selected individual's who make presentations to the general engineering community of unique and challenging applications of GT STRUDL.ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for this award the selected topic must first be presented at an annual meeting of the GT STRUDL Users Group.AWARD
One award will be presented at each annual Users Group Meeting. The winning presentation will be selected by the Georgia Tech - CASE Center staff attending the meeting. The "Award for Excellence" plaque will be bestowed on the winner by the Users Group Chairperson during the closing session.CASH AWARD
The Award of Excellence Presentation will be eligible for a cash award of $600. This cash award will be made if a presentation to the general engineering community is confirmed within two (2) years of the Users Group meeting. Presentation to the general engineering community may include a paper accepted by a regularly published engineering journal or magazine, or a lecture or poster session at a convention of engineers. An individual may only win this award one time.
